SCIENCE FEST AND MEGA MELA 2019

A two day Science fest and Mega Mela was organized at A.G. Public School on the 12th & 13th of February 2019. The event aimed at promoting Scientific and creative temperament among students. The students exhibited their talents and showed their scientific skills and creative thinking through self designed working models and projects.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri. R.S. Biju (Panchayath President, Kadakkal) and Inauguration of the Pavilion was done by Rev. T.J. Samuel (General Secretary, AGI) who observed that the event would not only inculcate scientific knowhow among the students but also be beneficial for them through interaction of various participants. The budding scientists of our school presented many creative ideas as part of exhibition. Their performance was attractive and marvelous. There were number of still and working models such as Hydro electric power station, Water dispenser and Smart City, wind mill, terrace farming, Charts , medicinal plants, stamp & coin collection, attractive doll and flower show and handy craft items. The Performance of the students was evaluated by Sri C. K. Sajeev and Mrs. R. Bhavana, Physics Teacher and Text book writers of TEM Vocational Higher Secondary School, Mylode.

The other major attractions of the day were an awareness class by Sri Vava Suresh, a wild life conservationist and snake expert and archeological exhibition by Sri Hakkim Maliakal a Limca Book of World record holder with a wide range of antique collection. There were many other pavilions such as book exhibition, food court, vehicle expo, horse riding etc. A health camp by Travancore Medicity was also arranged as part of the mela, in which there was free medical checkup for all who visited the pavilions. A large number of students, teachers and parents thronged the exhibition on both days.

The closing ceremony was held on the second day evening and Rev. Dr. P.S. Philip (Chairman & Supt. of AGMDC) gave the key note address. He observed the whole exhibition and the performance of the students and appreciated the novel ideas of the participants. The fest ended with Prizes and certificates distribution to the winners by Sri. Jacob George, Principal, Oxford School Karavaloor.

The exhibition provided a platform to scientific experimentation and innovation to the future scientists. The enthusiasm and skill clubbed with in-depth knowledge was commendable because it exhibited the earnest endeavor to promote scientific and creative attitude among students.
