We the members of science club in A. G Public School have initiated a programme in our school campus to create awareness among the students about the need of cultivating vegetables, which is facing a crisis due to slothfulness of people for farming and cultivation.  The programme was meant for inculcating a spirit and enthusiasm among the students so that they be enriched in their creativity in the field of farming and thus a culture for cultivation will be promoted in them to grow vegetables.  The name of the programme was “The seed Programme”.  This was arranged due to the initiative taken by the Principal and management.

The Science club inauguration was conducted on 19/07/2019.  It was done in the presence of our respected Principal Smt. Marykutty Jose. Our Chief Guest Mr. Rahul C, the Agriculture officer in Kadakkal, inaugurated the club. The students and the community at large were inspired by his speech about the importance of planting vegetables and the growing of a vegetable garden in the School campus. At this occasion as part of the programme vegetable seeds were sowed in the school campus and students were also given seed packets to cultivate vegetable in their respective house premises. The program was also attended by Mr.  Joby Katampally the patron of Balajanasakhyam in the Kadakkal.

The innovative work done as part of the inauguration of the science club was truly an eye opener for the students and the community at large. The subsequent effect was well manifested in the followings days. Many students and teachers began to be part of the ongoing development of the vegetable garden and the planting of trees. And they have planted a number of fruit trees and other vegetable plants around the campus. Now they are flourishing around the school premise.
